I see the blood, I hear the cries. In faith the Palestinian people unite knowing it may be their last day. Strong. Brave. Hopeful, even after so many years of pain. I’m surprised at their might, truly their eman (faith) has reached a mighty height.
They are our brothers and sisters in faith. They are joined to us by a moral and religious case. I can’t believe it, my mind cannot conceive it. We live in a world that commands justice, countries that claim they are at the pinnacle of civilisation, yet as people suffer, they hide away and spend their time going astray. They fail to prioritise, regardless of their faith. And we are the same. Whether you’re a Muslim or not you should be concerned, Palestine is not a religious issue, anyone who is being oppressed should be given attention, for some it is, but for us all it is a moral issue, it concerns everyone, you and I.
We live in a time when really, deep down we don’t care. We claim we do, we feel sad, but that’s it? Do we really even make du’a for them? Do you pray for them? Imagine if that was you? Is your reaction as you’d want others to react?
Allah says in the Qur’an, “The believers are nothing else but brothers” [1. Al-Hujurat, 10]
The Prophet said, “The believers are like one body. If its head is aching, the rest of the body is afflicted with fever and sleeplessness”. [2. Reported in Muslim]
The Prophet said, “A believer with respect to another believer is like one building: one part strengthens the other.” [3. Reported in AlBukhari and Muslim].
People go on about animal rights, they care about women rights, but in Gaza everything is on stake. Men are dying, women are crying, there is no agriculture. Isn’t this a crime against humanity? I feel helpless, we feel helpless, but we can do something.
We have come together with i1Legacy to bring you an online fundraiser ‘Your Gaza Legacy’ with various Shuyukh and influential figures this December 1st insha Allah.
I am Alima will host this webinar, and I have been blessed to host it, throughout this webinar we will bring examples of people from the past who suffered and the du’as they made to ease their pain. Within these Qur’anic examples, is an example for us, have we paid them any attention?
Why is it that everyone is so quiet? It just makes me think. So don’t be silent, go beyond a Facebook status, join us, become aware and make powerful du’a to Allah to help you make a difference in your life and theirs. Your du’a is powerful, if you believe it.
We pray that Allah removes all the hardship that people are facing, Palestine, Syria, Burma and all around the world. We pray that Allah gives them the freedom and the ability to be able to speak and guide us all to the Straight Path, Aameen ya Rabb.
