You are mine, and only mine

You are mine and only mine’, we all grow up with this feeling towards someone in our lives. It doesn’t necessarily need to be the opposite gender, this feeling is sometimes shared with parents and siblings as well. And then when we see that a person never remains ‘mine’ forever, that they must give their attention elsewhere, we get heart-breaks.

Human beings have this natural inclination to love someone dearly, so much so that they can’t bear it when that person gives more attention to someone else. We want that person ‘all for ourselves’. To have the feeling is natural, but to expect that from a human being is the mistaken part of the story.

When I was young, I used to often think, ‘if I am making du’a to Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He) now, and my friend as well, who will He be listening to? Won’t the attention be divided? I want Him to give full attention to me, I want Him to listen to me only’.

Alhamdulillah, after learning Islamic ‘Aqeeda, I realised that Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He) is like no one, and thinking that He is not able to give full attention to you at the same time is actually perceiving Him the way we perceive Humans, hence this is totally wrong.

Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He) tells about Himself, ‘and there is none like Him’. And indeed, there is no comparison to Him. He is above all imperfections and weaknesses. He is able to give us all due attention and love whenever we need though human beings cannot. So, when you realize this attribute of perfection of Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He), don’t you realize that it is His attention your heart was yearning for? Yes, it wasn’t an imperfect human being you wanted, though you mistakenly thought so, but it was Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He) Whose companionship you have been longing, and by submitting to His Will, you now fill that void in your heart!

There is no better companionship than the companionship of Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He), Who is there for you whenever you need Him, whenever you want to talk to Him, whenever you want to complain to Him, whenever you want to shed tears to Him, He is above all imperfections!

Aaah…..the beauty of Islamic Creed.

Indeed, the heart is a vessel that craves to be filled with sincere emotions like, Love, Respect, Caring for someone, Cared for by someone…..Again in its ignorance and deviation, it is afflicted with diseases like, Hatred, Jealousy, Arrogance, etc

Every moment of our life, we are intentionally or unintentionally feeding our hearts, be that something good or evil…..
Right now, if your Eemaan is not increasing, you should know that it is decreasing….there’s no “Steady State”

In all these hustle and bustle, we forget the most important thing, which is,

The Hearts does all these things in search of just one thing, and that is: Tranquility

    and indeed Allaah (Swt) said:

“Those who believed (in the Oneness of Allah – Islamic Monotheism), and whose hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allah: verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest .” (  ???? ?????  , Ar-Rad, Chapter #13, Verse #28)

Again as the sister mentioned in the words of Allaah (Swt):
“there is nothing like Him” [42:11]

It is imperative that every Muslim clearly understands the difference between the attributes of The Creator and the Created…this includes matters like,
Al-‘Hubb (love) is affirmed for Allah (Swt) but not Al-‘Ish’q (passionate love) which are types of Love, and other issues…

Thus it is necessary for us to understand that some feelings related with love and affection are Only for the created, our wives, daughters, sisters and all of them might not be attributed to Allaah (Swt), and yet in the other side of the spectrum it is imperative that we affirm the highest level of love to Allah (Swt) and His Messenger (Sm).

Generally speaking, Love for Allaah (Swt) and His Messenger (Sm) can be expressed through one word which is : Obedience
and “Obedience” is the ONLY way to gain Allaah’s Love, as is stated in His words (Swt):

“Say (O Muhammad ??? ???? ???? ???? to mankind): “If you (really) love Allah then follow me (i.e. accept Islamic Monotheism, follow the Qur’an and the Sunnah), Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
    (  ???? ?? ?????  , Aal-e-Imran, Chapter #3, Verse #31)

    Jazaakillahu khairan sister.
May Allah bless your pen and enable you to write and spread the words of truth in a way that pierces even the toughest of hearts.
