The Great Return — Halaqa review

I’ve sold my Life to Allah for His Pleasure — originally from Humaira Habiba

“Beep, Beep!” the machine kept buzzing. Each and every breath of Fatima’s father had became harder and harder. The doctors have all replied in the negative. Fatima’s father was at a terminal stage of multiple cancer disease. And there she was, sitting right next to her fathers’s bed on the red couch staring with large swollen eyes.

It was time for Maghrib, so she got up and she stood for salah. In her sujood, with deep tears she beseeched her Lord, knowing she had no refuge except Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He), Al Mujeeb, The Ever Responding.

She asked Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He) to grant her father death, if death was best for Him, or life if that was best.

She knew He was Al Hakeem, The All Wise, and she trusted in His infinite Wisdom. In a few minutes after she had completed her salah, she found her father’s breath fading, becoming weaker. She went close, her heart started to drop. SubhanAllah, the pain was hurting her now and his last breath left him.

Verily, we belong to Allah and to Him alone is our final return.

A tear rolled down her cheeks. Wait! It wasn’t a tear of despair, rather a tear of certainty at heart, that He was Al Mujeeb, The Ever Responding, Al ‘Aleem, The All Knower, closer to us than our jugular vein by His Knowledge, had decreed what was best for her beloved father.

FAST FORWARD – Friday, 20th April 2012, 10:45 AM, Chittagong

Let me now take you from the hospital to the hustle and bustle of a big hall room with so many young sisters with cheery and enthusiastic faces mashaAllah!

Can you guess what they were waiting for?

A mind blowing and breath-taking lecture which took place this Friday, 20th April here at Chittagong. It showcased on knowing Allah, Who He is and Who He isn’t, to live and internalize the Names and Attributes of Allah in our lives bi ithnillaah.

As you can’t have an amazing relationship with someone, whom you don’t even know, right? By no means is this a comparison, yet many people don’t know much about Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He), yet they think they know Him.

Ouch! It hurts! What can I do?

When Aasiyah 'alayhi'l-salām (peace be upon him) , the wife of Firown, was hung on to the ceiling, the extreme form of torture she went through, (trembles your nerves right); whom did she turn to? She asked Al ‘Alaa, the Most High for His Companionship.

At the moment of your deep sorrow, whom should you turn to except Al ‘Azeez, The Mighty, He will protect you? You’ll find solace today, turn to Al Wadood, The Most Loving.
Al ‘AFUWW (THE MOST FORGIVING), ADH-DHAHIR (THE MANIFEST)

The PDB (Power Development Board) at Chittagong made an announcement on 20th April, that there would be NO power supply from dawn 5:00am to evening 7:00pm! So Bismillah, we began our halaqah with no power supply. THEN a Miracle happened!! Can you guess? Just when our speaker, Faria Alam began discussing the Name of Allah, Al ‘Afuww, The Most Forgiving, mashaAllah the Power Supply was back!

ALHAMDULILLAAH! He is Adh-Dhahir, The Manifest. Can you guess one more Name of Allah that can be internalized here?

If you give me your pencil, I will give you my eraser

Back in school days, right? Nostalgia! Many of us don’t realize sometimes we end up doing the same thing with our Lord. He is As-Samad, The Supreme Provider, Free of all wants. He is not in need of us, He needs nothing, but we do need everything from Him.

That’s so appealing – but I fear Allah!

When you make a sacrifice for Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He), He in His amazing ways compensates you with blessings far better than you could ever have imagined! I remember, when I first came to Islam at the age of 14, back in my school and college days at Muscat, I lacked an Islamically practicing peer group. And because I avoided their companionship, the ‘fun’ which they made and made my way to solitude, Al Wahhab, The Bestower in His amazing ways united me with an amazing group of sisters here in Chittagong, things of which I never ever dreamt before, SubhanAllah. He is Al Fattah, The Opener, when you do actions solely for the sake of Allah, He will open up doors, you can’t imagine! Make the best use of the opportunities that He, Al Musawwir, The Fashioner has fashioned for you.

HEY! Btw, You and I were at the hall room right, where our sisters were waiting for The Great Return to begin? YES! This was The Great Return! An awesome journey into Names of Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He). Well, did you make it OR did you miss it? If you made it to the Great Return, then feel free to share in comments how did this succeed in impacting your life and create an impact on those who missed it! Let’s keep in mind that, you and I, whether we want or don’t want it, we HAVE to Return to Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He), however it’s up to you and I if we choose to turn to Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He) or not! The choice is OURS.

We had our Great Return to Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He) join us in our next session to starts yours and use these talks as a means of improvement and gaining closeness to your Creator, Al Khaliq.
