Aeons ago, came down a Prophet on earth
Who exemplified to us, a life of worth.
Inspirations came to him, of a month of Sawm,
Allaah wanted us to rise to heights awesome.
Came down the Qur’aan on a Power Night,
To save our hearts from a wretched plight.
Lost among the denizens of an automatized life,
Forgotten was I, my heart needed life.
In pangs of hunger, hunger of happiness,
This pain so poignant, except Allaah, to all I was hopeless.
The heralds of good news came crisping the air,
Ramadhaan knocked my doors, off goes all despair.
The missing link of my life, little did I ruminate,
to all the diseases of this heart, it did culminate.
Al Qur’aan, the Rope I failed to hold on tight,
Has pulled me down to this miserable plight.
Ya Al Quddus! Your Glorious Sight on that Day, I wish to attain,
Forgive me Al ‘Afuww, no longer can I bear this pain.
In Kalamullaah lies the life of my heart,
In love with your Book, I shall never fall apart.
On that Day, I wish to recite and rise,
Grant me heights that would leave me in surprise.
Bliss, bliss upon bliss, I want happiness!
Wa maa adhraaka maa happiness?
Submitting to Al ‘Alaa, rushing to Him in obedience
Leaving my heart in perfect convenience.
I have found my lost life, my lost love,
My keys to happiness, I’m a blissful dove!
Al Qur’aan, the Greatest Blessing to savour,
Delve and absorb, do your hearts a favour!
That piece of flesh, before it dies,
This is the time, heed to its cries.
You and I, shall we begin NOW?
You see, life can’t just wait to get more WOW!
